TIMELINE
Copper is arriving in AK since he received news from Leopold that his father passed away. Leo's also the only one that knew where he was. He was fishing in Portugal. At his father's funeral he runs into Kinga Chesnokova, the captain of the boat his father was fishing on when he passed away (also a boat he fished on extensively as a teenager before leaving.) She's there with Emery Lee Stringer. She asks him to stay on the boat for a season as it's last minute to find a greenhorn and sign him in just three days. He agrees.
Leo couldn't come to the funeral because he couldn't leave the Chophouse so Copper is on his way to see Leo. A few minutes after arriving, a young woman comes into the Chophouse, visibly shaken up, weak, and with marks in her face. She sits at the bar and Leo goes down to work some psychology on her and be a good bartender. He gives her a drink on the house and tries to find out what happened to her. He finds out she was mugged and looking for work. He previously told Copper that King fired another nurse and suggests the girl, named Honor, could fill the position.
Copper offers the girl the position (without telling King) and she accepts. Honor stays at the Chophouse for three days with Copper and Leo, healing up and learning to cook a few things (much to her indignation). She spends most of her time with Leo, who enjoys her company very much, as Copper doesn't feel so inclined to groom her.
